Beyond the lens. Beyond the brief.

More about project

Our biggest project, GALA HAT 2024-2025, was a student showcase of singing, dancing, and theater that explored dreams, ambition, and rivalry. Through every lens and every shot, I aimed to capture what made our school community special — its creativity, its chaos, and its unity.

— How It All Started —When I first joined Hanoi–Amsterdam Art Team (HAT), I wasn’t in the media department at all — I started in finance. My days were filled with budgets, sponsorship proposals, and long emails convincing partners to believe in our student-led art projects. From negotiating contracts to securing funding for performances, I learned how creativity also needs structure — and how art only thrives when supported by good planning.

But somewhere along the way, while helping organize events, I found myself drawn to the cameras. I began assisting the media team, staying behind after meetings to help with editing or framing shots. Eventually, my passion for storytelling earned me a spot in both the Finance and Media Departments — two worlds that couldn’t be more different, yet both essential to every successful project.

— Becoming Head of Media —

In my final season, I was entrusted with leading the Media Department, managing a team of 11 talented members across photography, cinematography, and post-production. Together, we redefined how HAT told its stories — focusing not only on performance but also on emotion, character, and the energy behind the stage.

Looking back, my journey from finance to media taught me more than technical skills. It taught me that leadership begins with curiosity, that art needs both vision and discipline, and that sometimes the best stories come from the moments you didn’t expect to fall in love with.
